Sutapa moved to Bollywood, becoming an extremely well-known writer when she wrote the dialogues for the 1996 film Khamoshi: The Musical. She has since gone on to be successful in many other films, most notably with her work as a writer in Supari (2003), Shabd (2005) and Kahi (2012) which are two big hits – one commercially and one both critically and commercially.
